Welcome In

Hi Sweet Friend ☺️

I’m not sure how you found your way here today, but I’m so glad you did! I have always loved celebrations and hosting people. Whether it be a few friends for dinner or helping pull off a wedding, I truly love creating spaces for people to build memories and feel loved.

“…people aren’t looking for the perfect friend most of the time, they are just looking for someone to be intentional.”

As I’ve been evaluating my life over the past few years (I’ve got a long commute for work so plenty of time to think), I realized one thing… I’m really passionate about being a friend. I don’t do it perfectly all the time, in fact, a lot of the time I make mistakes. But, what I've come to understand is that people aren’t looking for the perfect friend most of the time, they are just looking for someone to be intentional.

If you’re anything like me, sometimes you just want to know that someone on the other line cares about you - that you matter. Well this first blog is here for both of us. I hope you haven’t had to spend seasons in deep loneliness, but if you did first off, I just want to say I see you. Those moments or months or years, can be so hard. Loneliness is one of the worst feelings in the world. I’m proud of you for continuing to show up.

Secondly, I hope that if you have gone through that experience, the Lord was near. If you don’t know the Lord, well I’m glad you’re here regardless. I pray one day you will come to know and love him. He is the ultimate cure for a lonely heart, for in him you are home - you are known and you are loved, more deeply than you could ever be by another human (romantic or otherwise). For the Lord sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24,) and he sets the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6). He is trustworthy and kind. He knows what it’s like to be an outsider and rejected. He chose a relationship with us over his own glory on earth, this still blows my mind.

Lastly friend, if you have never been lonely, my goodness I’m so happy for you! I truly wish for you that you never have to experience it, but I hope you will be an inviter. I hope that you familiarize yourself with the signs of a lonely soul and be the person who reaches out an arm to welcome in a stranger.

All in all, I’m excited that you found this space. My hope and prayer is that you will find a place here, that you will feel encouraged to live out the purpose you were created for, and that you will live a more intentionally welcoming life no matter where you find yourself.

xo, Cait
