On Rest
The joyous part though is while life matters a great deal, checking off the to-do list of life isn’t something that makes you more or less valuable. We get to accept the offer of rest, of Shalom that is a respite from all of this. When we bring our burdens, the heaviness, and chaotic parts of life to the Lord, we get to lay it all out.
On Walking in Contentment
Contentment isn’t a passive “everything is fine” mentality, but rather, I see it as a choice to lean on the strength of the Lord and to choose to acknowledge what’s hard and yet, keep going.
On Wrestling with Disappointment
So sitting in this in between, I have to ask myself, “then what”? It’s this question of how to respond that I’ve been wrestling with if I'm really honest. What do I do when I’m disappointed? Am I able to set aside my preference to see God’s hand even when it doesn’t make sense?
On being Known
Any one of us who feels alone, left out, and friendless – we have direct access to the Holy Spirit first and foremost, then we get to be part of the community of believers on earth. And, we get to live out our lives from a place of being known and already loved.
